The effect of PDQ!

The PDQ course has changed a lot in my teaching by refreshing my teaching methods. After teaching for many years, we become standard teachers that do their part as teachers. The PDQ course has been a step towards self-actualisation within my chosen career that has given me a fresh and broad insight into how 21st Century skills can be applied to the lessons.

What hasn't changed?

Once I have read that education and learning have no restriction of age. I should admit that PDQ reminded me of this quotation and took me back to my university years when I was a student without any experience but full of motivation and enthusiasm to learn. Now as an experienced teacher, I feel grateful and blessed to be given the opportunity of refreshment.

Worth-Learning!

Students want to know what they are learning and why it is useful to learn these things. It motivates students when they can link the knowledge. It has been found that students retain information much better if they perceive it as valuable. I quote: the Glossary of Education Reform “Engagement is the degree of attention, curiosity, optimism, and passion students display when they learn or are taught.”

Enhance standards by feedback

Formative assessment is powerful since it helps the teachers identify the difficulties in the students' understanding of the topic and guides the students future progress. Feedback has a significant role through formative assessment. According to teachers feedback, students question their own learning "how to learn" process and progress.
